### Sanding Grit Progression

Start coarse and work finer:

- **Coarse grit (60–80):** Removes material fast, levels surfaces.
- **Medium grit (100–150):** Smooths scratches from coarse paper.
- **Fine grit (180–220):** Prepares surface for finish, removes minor imperfections.
- **Extra fine (320+):** Buffs between coats for glass‐smooth results.

Always sand **with** the grain to avoid cross‐grain scratches.
